Pricing in Sprout is based on price levels.  Customers and Customer Sites are assigned a price level and when a sales order is placed for the customer the pricing for a given item and UOM combination are pulled from the pricing file.

Pricing in Sprout is set up primarily in one of two ways.  The first way is fixed pricing.  This pricing stays the same week over week for a customer until changed.  The second, and more common way, is to use pricing calculations.

Fixed pricing is pricing that is set indefinitely and does not ever change unless a manual change is made. Fixed pricing is often used for pricing that is contracted. This is also where imported pricing resides if you receive pricing files from customers or partners.

Calculated pricing takes the cost of the product, plus freight and additional fees, such as tectrol, pallets or similar fees, and then adds a predetermined set of rules that mark the cost up by an amount or percentage.  Many additional functions can be applied as well.
