Some specific items must be created. These will be kit items with an associated recipe.

Compost Item

An item for compost is created in Sprout. It is made of subcomponents, such as straw or chicken litter. These subcomponents are purchased no different than any stock item.  Those items make up the compost recipe.

When creating the compost item typically it is set as an Active, Kit and Stock Item. The unit of measure is typically pounds and the recipe is made in the same pound unit of measure.

On the recipe the quantity can be set to zero and entered once the weights are recorded.

The user should also set the Default Production Station to one of the stations created in a previous section.
