Setup

Setup Steps

To get sales order line items to populate the pack assignment dashboard, a few setup steps are required.

Add the Base Product Group Type

The Base Product Group Type must be added. To add the Base Product Group Type go to IC in the Navbar and select Item Groups. You will see a list of Item Group Types and a form for adding new group types. Type BaseProduc as the group type and add a description. If you are not sure what to put for the description you can put Base Product. Click Add and the Base Product Group Type will be visible in the list.

Add Base Product Groups

Once the Base Product Group Type is added you can add Base Product Groups. Base Product Groups allow similar items to be grouped together. For instance, a group can be added for all basil and a group for all cilantro. Items need to be added to these groups to show in pack assignment.

To add Base Product Groups go to the Group Types list, find the Base Product Group Type, and click Edit Groups. You will see a list of groups and a form for adding new groups.

Add Items to Base Product Groups

When the Base Product Groups have been added then items need to be added to those groups. To add an item to a group go to the Edit Item page, select the Groups tab, select the group from the dropdown and click Add to add it. Then click Save to save the item.

Add Item Sizes

Finally, the item size should be added. Like groups, the size is used to break down Base Product Groups into sizes. To add the size, go to the Edit Item page, select the Main tab, and fill in the Size input. Then click Save to save the item.

Cases and Pieces

Cases

Sales order line item quantities are displayed in pack assignment in cases and units. The cases value represents the quantity ordered on the sales order. If the quantity for a line item on the sales order is 500 then it will be displayed as 500 cases.

Pieces

The pieces value represents the total number of pieces ordered based on the unit of measure. For example, if 500 items are ordered that have a unit of measure of 48-3CT then the number of pieces equals 72,000.

500 * 48/3 = 72,000

Numerator and Denominator

To calculate these values, a numerator and denominator must be added to each unit of measure. For our 48-3CT example, the numerator should be 48 and the denominator 3. These can be added by editing the unit of measure by clicking IC in the Navbar and selecting Units of Measure. This will take you to a list of unit of measures which can be edited by clicking on Properties.
